CWA Parent & Athlete Guide
Choose your class.
Choose your starting class using the age and grade ranges below. You do not need to contact us before attending a regular practice for that class. These ranges are general guidelines; coaches can help adjust placement based on experience, ability, physical maturity, and readiness. Advancement and training across levels require coaching approval.

Choose your location.
Explore all three CWA locations—Brownsburg, Greenwood, and Noblesville—and attend as many classes for your athlete’s training group as you would like. This includes your free two-week trial. You are not limited to one location. Live sessions and training across levels still require coaching approval.

West / BrownsburgSouth / GreenwoodNorth / NoblesvilleHigh School practice schedule is provided separately.
Start your free trial.
You don't need to have everything figured out. Our coaches and front desk will help your family get started. First-time athletes receive one free two-week trial, beginning at their first practice.
Pick a practice
Use the schedule above to choose a regular instructional practice for the class and location you selected. You do not need to contact us first unless you have questions.
Arrive a little early
Come 10–15 minutes before practice. Stop at the front desk to complete the information sheet and waiver and meet the coaching staff.
Try it together
During your two-week trial, explore all three locations and attend as many eligible classes for your athlete’s group as you would like. There is no obligation to join.
Pack light. Come prepared.
Your first-practice checklist
0 of 6 ready
Ready for practice to start.
No hooded or baggy practice clothing. Keep nails trimmed and arrive in clean practice attire.
Don’t have wrestling shoes? No problem—borrow ours! If you already own wrestling shoes, bring them. If wrestling is new to your family, you do not need to know what to buy or rush out and purchase anything. Stop at the front desk when you arrive, and we’ll help your athlete find a pair of loaner wrestling shoes for practice. Headgear is optional for practice and recommended.
Keep street shoes off the mats. We suggest keeping all items in your athlete’s bag and labeling all CWA gear and personal belongings with their name. Check the bag before leaving so everything goes home together.
Health, Hygiene & Injuries
Arrive in clean practice clothes, keep fingernails trimmed, and wash practice clothing after each use. Shower after practice and avoid sharing towels or personal items.
Wipes do not replace showering or medical evaluation of a skin concern.
Tell a coach about an injury or suspected skin infection before participating. If your athlete is sick or has a potentially contagious skin condition, keep them off the mat and seek appropriate medical guidance. Covering a suspicious area does not automatically make participation appropriate. Coordinate with CWA staff about any clearance needed before returning.
Stay in the loop.

Sharing moments from the room.
CWA may take photos and videos during practices and events and post them on our social media pages. Your athlete may appear in individual or group footage, including background shots.
Questions or concerns about your athlete appearing on camera? Please speak with Ryan or the front desk before participating so we can discuss your concerns.
A great room takes all of us.
Athlete Expectations
Come ready to practice, listen when coaches are speaking, follow directions, respect training partners, and give consistent effort.
Coaches will redirect athletes who are distracted or disruptive. Repeated issues may result in sitting out part or all of practice and a conversation with a parent. Unsafe or serious misconduct may result in immediate removal from practice.
Let coaches coach. No exceptions to parent conduct.
Parents and spectators must remain in designated viewing areas and allow coaches to run practice without interference.
- Do not yell, call out, or talk to your athlete during practice.
- No hand signals, gestures, or coaching from the viewing area.
- Do not tap or knock on the viewing window.
- Do not attempt to get your athlete’s attention or interrupt instruction.
- Keep conversations quiet and stay off the mats.
If you need your athlete or have an urgent concern, speak with staff. Do not call across the room or signal through the glass. These expectations apply to every parent and spectator.
Arrivals, departures & siblings
Be ready at the scheduled start time. Tell the coach before practice if your athlete needs to leave early. Parents should remain until practice begins and be present at its end. Siblings must be supervised by their parent or guardian in the area they are using. Stay in that area with them; do not leave them unattended, allow them to roam the facility, or send them to another area without supervision.
Respect the facility
No street shoes on mats. Stay out of offices, behind-desk areas, and other restricted spaces. Use locker rooms for preparation without disrupting practices, and take all belongings home.
Training & competition
Coaches help identify suitable tournaments based on age, experience, and goals. Team opportunities and coaching plans are shared through sportsYou. Confirm event coverage with staff; coverage can vary across events and simultaneous matches.
Weigh-ins & athlete development
Satellite weigh-ins may be available when permitted by tournament directors. CWA does not support weight cutting, and plastics are not allowed in practice areas. Speak with your coach about competition placement.
When teammates wrestle each other.
Two CWA athletes may meet in the same tournament bracket. Both athletes are members of our team, and our coaching approach must respect that relationship.
When both represent CWA
When two CWA-affiliated athletes face each other, CWA coaches stay out of both corners. Coaches do not choose one CWA athlete over another or coach against a teammate.
This is our approach to that head-to-head match. It does not mean either athlete is being overlooked or that their development matters less.
The outside-coach exception
If one athlete has an outside coach in their corner, the exception to our usual approach may apply. CWA staff can coordinate coaching for the other athlete.
Tell the CWA coaching staff about an outside coach before the match. Let staff clarify the corner arrangements before athletes are called to the mat.
Coaching coverage at every event or match is not guaranteed. Help coaches by notifying them when your athlete is about five matches away. At State and National tournaments, championship-bracket athletes receive priority when coverage conflicts.
Your joining checklist.
Complete these steps when you decide to join CWA after your trial.

Check In at Every Practice
When you join, ask the front desk to help set up your athlete’s scan card. Athletes should scan in at every practice, at every location, so their attendance is recorded accurately. If a card is missing or will not scan, let the front desk know.
Contracts are completed in person at any CWA location. Mindbody handles payments and contract administration. All CWA communications are through sportsYou.

Understand Your Membership
Before signing, review your membership option, payment schedule, and contract terms with the front desk.
Renewal: Memberships automatically renew unless canceled according to the contract. Provide cancellation notice at least seven days before your current term ends.
Commitment: Multi-month contracts cover consecutive months. The month-to-month option allows cancellation without a longer commitment, subject to the notice requirement.
Injury pauses: A qualifying injury requiring at least four weeks off the mat in the upcoming billing cycle may qualify for a pause with a doctor’s note. Paused time is added to the end of the contract. If recovery takes longer than expected, notify CWA so the pause can be reviewed.
Starting mid-month: You may pay a prorated amount for the remainder of your starting month, with your full contract term beginning the following month.
Your signed contract contains the complete membership and payment terms.
